Air Anti-Sub Warfare Systems Program Office welcomes new leadership

Capt. Dan Papp requested to go ashore for the last time in a retirement and change of command ceremony on June 2 surrounded by family, colleagues, and friends.

After three years as program manager for Air Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW) Systems Program (PMA-264) and 27 years of dedicated service, Papp bid farewell to his colleagues and thanked his family with humble remarks as he welcomed new leadership, Capt. Dennis Lloyd.

Navy C-26D makes a 2,241-mile journey

A Navy C-26D aircraft made a 2,241 mile, eight-stop, eight-day, eight-country trek. The aircraft flew from Naval Support Activity (NSA) Naples, Italy to a repair depot in New Braunfels, Texas landing on May 16.

While not an epic trek across time and space, the flight of the C-26 Metroliner was an example of Tactical Airlift Program Office (PMA-207) Fixed Wing/Operational Support Aircraft (VR/OSA) utility lift team’s dedication to serving the fleet.

Reynolds awarded marine aviation acquisition officer of the year

Lt. Col. James Reynolds received the Michael A. Hough Marine Aviation Acquisitions Officer of the Year Award in a May 19 ceremony. The award was presented during the 50th Annual Marine Corps Aviation Association Symposium in San Diego.

“I was honored to hear of my nomination, but to win the award is a true reflection on just how good the PMA-274 team is,” said Reynolds, the deputy program manager for the presidential lift replacement helicopter (VH-92A). “I had a chance to stand on the shoulders of giants. Without this team, this recognition would not be possible.”

H-53 Heavy Lift Helicopters Program Office welcomes new program manager

The H-53 Heavy Lift Helicopters Program Office (PMA-261) welcomed their new program manager during a change of command ceremony on May 11.

Maj. Gen. Greg Masiello, program executive officer for air anti-submarine warfare, assault & special mission programs (PEO(A)), served as guest speaker and officiating officer, applauding Col. Jack Perrin for his leadership and welcoming Col. Kate Fleeger to the leadership role.

Israeli Air Force leadership takes flight in CH-53K

Israeli Air Force (IAF) Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Eyal Grinboim visited Naval Air Station Patuxent River in February for a program update and flight on the CH-53K heavy lift helicopter.

Grinboim and his staff met with Maj. Gen. Gregory Masiello, program executive officer for air anti-submarine warfare, assault and special mission programs (PEO(A)). Masiello and Col. Jack Perrin, program manager, heavy lift program office (PMA-261), gave the IAF group an overview of the CH-53K program and a status update on current tests and production.

Marine Corps Joint Air-to-Ground Missile achieves Initial Operational Capability

The U.S. Marine Corps declared Initial Operating Capability (IOC) for the AGM-179A Joint Air-to-Ground Missile (JAGM) on the AH-1Z Viper, March 1.

JAGM, a joint program with the Army, is a precision-guided missile that combines semi-active laser guidance and millimeter-wave radar. It is an air-to-surface precision-guided munition (PGM) used on joint rotary-wing, unmanned aircraft systems, and fixed-wing platforms to destroy high-value, stationary and moving, land and maritime targets.
