Naval Test Wing Atlantic provides naval aviation with premiere, innovative test, evaluation and experimentation expertise serving as vigilant advocates for the warfighter. The organization is supported by three key civilian departments — Air Vehicle Test and Evaluation, Mission Systems Test and Evaluation, and Test and Evaluation Management of Programs and Operations — which play an integral role in advancing the Navy and Marine Corps' fleet of aircraft. These civilian employees work alongside military personnel to ensure air vehicle and mission sensor ground and flight tests exceed expectations. Together these departments handle all aspects of test planning, execution, data analysis and results reporting for naval fixed-wing, rotary-wing and unmanned aerial system platforms across the test wing's test and evaluation squadrons VX-20, VX-23, HX-21 and UX-24. The departments aim to drive innovation in test methodologies, techniques and the use of new technologies, ensuring the highest standards for the fleet's performance and readiness.
