Flying into 40: V-22 program office recognizes four decades of collaboration

Forty years ago this month, the Department of Navy (DoN) took control of what is now known as the V-22 Joint Program Office (PMA-275), responsible for the cradle-to-grave acquisition, sustainment, development and production of the venerable tiltrotor aircraft.

With more than 700,000 flight hours under its articulating halos, the V-22 Osprey is a military marvel, providing unmatched capabilities to the U.S. Marines, Navy, Air Force and the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force.

Guernsey earns prestigious DOD engineering award

The Airborne Strategic Command, Control, and Communications program office’s (PMA-271) Chief Engineer, Matt Guernsey was selected as Individual Achievement in Engineering in the Department of Defense’s 2022 Defense Acquisition Workforce Awards.

“Matt is a brilliant leader with the vision to tackle exceptionally difficult challenges, formulate technically sound strategies and inspire his teams to achieve greatness,” said Capt. Adam Scott, PMA-271 program manager.  

PMA-290 brings home Supply Chain Acquisition Team of the Year award

The Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office (PMA-290) P-8A Poseidon supply team received the 2022 Department of the Navy Acquisition Excellence Award for Supply Chain Acquisition Team of the Year during a ceremony at the Pentagon, Nov. 3.

The annual event recognizes outstanding individuals and teams who have made exceptional contributions to promote competition and innovation throughout the acquisition lifecycle, ultimately delivering rapid, affordable, high performing capabilities to naval warfighters around the globe.

Seahawk maintenance advances U.S. and Australian navy partnership, readiness

The U.S. and Royal Australian Navies will advance their partnership in a first-ever demonstration of periodic maintenance inspection (PMI) on a U.S. Navy MH-60R Seahawk in Australia starting October 2022.

The international maintenance demonstration comes 11 years after the H-60 Multi-mission Helicopters Program Office (PMA-299) and Royal Australian Navy’s (RAN) foreign military sale for MH-60 Romeo helicopters was established reinforcing more than 100 years of “mateship” between the two countries.

PEO(A) welcomes new leadership

Program Executive Office Air Anti-Submarine Warfare, Assault, and Special Mission Programs (PEO (A)) welcomed new leadership in a brief ceremony July 29 at the Pentagon.

Maj. Gen. Greg Masiello transferred leadership to Mr. Gary Kurtz with Mr. Tommy Ross, performing the duties of the assistant secretary of the Navy (ASN) research, development and acquisition (RDA) presiding over the event.

“I just want to say thank you for your leadership. Thank you for everything you've done for the Navy,” said Ross.
