PMA-290 Product Support Manager selected as 2022 SECDEF PSM of the Year Award Recipient

Matthew Cosgrove, Product Support Manager (PSM) for the Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft (MRPA) Program Office (PMA-290), was named the 2022 Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) PSM of the Year (Major Defense Acquisition Programs/Acquisition Category I Program) Award.

Cosgrove was selected for his logistics and sustainment support for three Type/Model/Series (TMS) aircraft: the P-3C Orion, EP-3 Aries II, and P-8A Poseidon, including Foreign Military Sales fleets for 16 international partners and a variety of sensor packages.

PMA-290 brings home Supply Chain Acquisition Team of the Year award

The Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office (PMA-290) P-8A Poseidon supply team received the 2022 Department of the Navy Acquisition Excellence Award for Supply Chain Acquisition Team of the Year during a ceremony at the Pentagon, Nov. 3.

The annual event recognizes outstanding individuals and teams who have made exceptional contributions to promote competition and innovation throughout the acquisition lifecycle, ultimately delivering rapid, affordable, high performing capabilities to naval warfighters around the globe.

PMA-290 P-8A sustainment, readiness team receive NAVAIR Commander’s Award

The Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office (PMA-290) P-8A Poseidon sustainment and readiness team received the NAVAIR Commander’s Award for best improvement in mission capable or full mission capable readiness during a ceremony April 20, 2022. 

The team developed an execution strategy focused on leveraging data-driven approaches and collaboration with stakeholders enabling the fleet to sustain the P-8A, which translated into a significant and sustained number of fully mission capable aircraft being available on the flight line. 

Maritime Patrol, Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office welcomes new commander

The Maritime Patrol and Reconnaissance Aircraft Program Office (PMA-290) bid farewell to Capt. Tony Rossi as he relinquished command to Capt. Eric Gardner during a small ceremony here March 30.

Marine Maj. Gen. Greg Masiello, program executive officer for air anti-submarine warfare, assault and special mission programs (PEO(A)), presided over the ceremony and recognized Rossi for his achievements leading the program over the last four years.

P-8A gets new tool, extended search and rescue capability

Flying at a maximum speed of about 565 mph, at about 41,000 feet, the U.S. Navy’s P-8A Poseidon already covers an operational area of about 1,200 nautical miles during a four-hour on-station period. Now, add air-to-air refueling for extended range and endurance and an advanced search and rescue kit and officials say the P-8A is postured to respond to humanitarian missions around the globe.
