Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst and Rutgers University (RU) signed a new educational partnership agreement (EPA) to further student interest in fields of science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in relation to real world technical applications required by the U.S. Navy.

Capt. Elizabeth “Lizard” Somerville took command of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 23 from Lt. Col. Mark “Ammo” Amspacher during a change of command ceremony at NAS Patuxent River today.

Col. Richard E. Marigliano, Commodore of Naval Test Wing Atlantic, presided over the change of command ceremony. 

Thanks to a recently patented invention from Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD), maintainers will soon be able to reduce the time required to test the avionics systems of the Navy's F/A-18 Hornets — increasing the operational readiness of the fleet's primary strike aircraft.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) is advancing its human systems technology by combining best practices from the medical and engineering communities.

The warfare center recently stood up the Aeromedical Monitoring and Analysis branch comprised of licensed medical military officers bridging their perspective with engineering disciplines to improve operational capabilities like night vision technology, hearing protection, mission planning software, and more.

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) recognized its leading scientific and technical innovators during a virtual ceremony on April 7 recognizing the winners of the 2020 Naval Innovative Science and Engineering (NISE) Section 219 program awardees.

The winners of the NAVAIR Commander’s Awards were recognized virtually at the 21st annual awards ceremony March 31 for delivering capability faster, improving readiness and providing innovative technologies and business solutions.

Cmdr. Daniel P. Martin, commanding officer of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (UX) 24, is proud to announce that Marine Corps Maj. Joseph Davin earned the Naval Test Wing Atlantic (NTWL) Test Naval Flight Officer (NFO) of the Year Award for 2020. Maj. Davin received his award during a virtual ceremony on March 5.
