The final day of the Sea-Air-Space Expo 2024 began with a question-and-answer session with representatives from the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Office of Small Business Programs (OSBP) and concluded with an overview of NAVAIR’s Fleet Readiness Centers.  

Leadership, Training Advancements, Weapons Development Take Priority at Day Two of Sea-Air-Space Expo 2024

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) leadership took the stage Tuesday morning at the 2024 Sea-Air-Space Expo to discuss how NAVAIR is “Advancing the Way We Develop, Integrate, Test, Train, Field and Sustain Naval Aviation Capability.”

The panel was moderated by NAVAIR Commander Vice Admiral Carl Chebi. Joining Chebi were Rear Admiral Joe Hornbuckle, Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers; Rear Admiral John Dougherty, Commander, Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD); and Dan Carreño, executive director of Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD).

Advances in Unmanned Systems, Additive Manufacturing, Small Business Collaboration Highlight First Day of Sea-Air-Space 2024

Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) kicked off the 2024 Sea-Air-Space Expo on Monday with panel discussions on manned/unmanned and weapon systems advancements, additive manufacturing success stories and collaborative opportunities for small businesses to join with NAVAIR to aid the warfighter. 

The Fleet Readiness Center Southeast AMAS team earns PMA-260 Team of the Year award

The Aviation Maintenance Advancement Solutions (AMAS) production and logistics team, one of the many Fleet Support Teams (FST) assigned to Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE), was recently recognized as the Common Aviation Support Equipment Program Office (PMA-260) Team of the Year. It’s the first time that an FRCSE FST has received the accolade. 

FRCE inspires next generation of engineers during E-Week activities

Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) recently engaged thousands of Eastern North Carolina students with interactive, STEM-based learning activities as part of National Engineers Week. 

The depot’s STEM Outreach Team conducted a total of 54 events at 39 local schools, engaging over 4,700 students in celebration of National Engineers Week. Also known as E-Week, the national observance is one of the largest science, technology, engineering and math events in the United States.   

NAVAIR Leadership, Programs to Present at annual Sea-Air-Space Expo 2024

A discussion panel featuring Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) leaders Adm. Carl Chebi, Rear Adm. John Dougherty, Rear Adm. Joseph Hornbuckle, and Dan Carreño highlight this year’s Sea-Air-Space Conference and Exposition 2024, hosted by the Navy League of the United States.

The event kicks off Monday, April 8, and goes through Wednesday, April 10, at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center at National Harbor, Maryland. Its focus will be to provide updates on innovation and partnerships to a wide audience.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast debuts electrical discharge machining device on its F-5 Aircraft Production Line

Recently, artisans assigned to the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) F-5 Production Line propelled the organization into the next generation of industrial aviation maintenance with the single pull of an electrical discharge machining (EDM) trigger.

FRCE helps Blue Angels ensure Fat Albert is ready for the show

Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) recently welcomed aviation icon Fat Albert and its team for scheduled inspections and maintenance, which gave FRCE a unique opportunity to learn from the “best of the best.”

FRCE’s Minor Depot Inspection (MDI) Team worked alongside the Blue Angels Fat Albert Maintenance Team to complete annual maintenance and inspections on Fat Albert, the Blue Angels’ C-130J Super Hercules support aircraft.
