Rear Admiral Ben Reynolds, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy Visits FRCSW

Rear Admiral Ben Reynolds, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Budget (Financial Management and Comptroller), recently visited Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) where command leadership provided an overview of the depot's mission, operational successes, and the challenges impacting the sustainment of fleet readiness.

During the visit, Reynolds received updates on FRCSW's aircraft maintenance, component repair, manufacturing, and modernization efforts before touring key production areas supporting the F/A-18, E2D and H-60 programs.

FRCSW Industrial Engineering Technology Team Earns Award

In April 2026, then Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Commanding Officer, CAPT Luis “Rick” Rivera presented challenge coins to the Industrial Engineering Technology (IET) Components Team in recognition of a major milestone for the LM2500 Single Shank Turbine (SST) engine program. Over the course of a rigorous month, the team updated more than 900 component routes for the SST.  (read about the LM2500 program here).

Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) Commanding Officer, CAPT Shannon Thompson, presents a Commanding Officer's Challenge Coin to Mr. Dong Phan in recognition of his unwavering dedication and sustained contributions to aircraft readiness. Mr. Phan's commitment to excellence has directly strengthened Fleet Readiness Center Southwest's mission of delivering combat ready aircraft to the fleet and ensuring the Marines of Camp Pendleton have the capabilities needed to succeed in today's operational environment.
