When the fleet has an urgent operational need, there is no time to wait. There is a mission to support, Sailors and Marines depending on the equipment, and a clock already running. That is where Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) shines.

Recently, FRCSW was asked to rapidly manufacture a new configuration of T-bolt needed to support an urgent fleet requirement. The Navy needed the capability manufactured, tested and delivered in approximately two weeks, with an immediate requirement for 70 bolts, fourteen of which were assigned to the command.

When an F/A-18 Super Hornet aboard the aircraft carrier USS Theodore Roosevelt faced a fuel leak that threatened its ability to safely depart the ship under its own power, Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) engineers were called upon to help find the answer.

The recruiting effort seeks to fill more than 200 positions supporting the U.S. military and the Department of War’s defense strategy, connecting talented members of the San Diego community with opportunities to contribute to a mission of national importance.

FRCSW Commanding Officer, CAPT Shannon Thompson presented Civilian Service Achievement Medals to Ms. Jaimee Sanders, Mr. Art Arellano, Mr. Darrell Daniels, and Mr. Ray Fernandez, he also presented Civilian Service Commendation Medals to Mr. Epifano Echavez and Mr. Carlos Taitano.
