FRCSW Personnel Visit USS Theodore Roosevelt

Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) personnel recently had the opportunity to go aboard the USS Theodore Roosevelt, gaining a firsthand look at how maintenance, supply, and logistics directly impact the readiness of our forward deployed warfighters.

As the ship prepares for deployment, the crew provided an inside look at the enormous effort required to keep a carrier supplied, maintained, and ready to operate. From using elevators and hand to hand lines to move cases of food below decks, to the countless supplies and equipment needed to sustain aircraft while on board, the tour demonstrated that readiness depends on people and processes working together across the entire enterprise.

The visit also provided a closer look at the flight deck and the many behind the scenes operations that keep the ship mission ready. The crew did an outstanding job demonstrating how the work performed far from the ship can have a direct impact on operations at sea.

The tour highlighted areas directly connected to FRCs Maintenance Repair and Overhaul Logistics (MRO-L) mission, including the crane used to move supplies to the lower decks, the packing and preservation office where outbound items are prepared for shipment, and the flight deck operations that ultimately depend on the timely delivery of maintenance material.

Seeing these operations firsthand reinforced a powerful connection: what happens off the ship can directly affect what happens on ship.

The men and women of FRCSWs MRO-L team play an essential role in that readiness enterprise, providing the maintenance, material, and logistics support that helps ensure our forward deployed warfighters have what they need, when they need it.

FRCSW Employees are the Backbone of Military Readiness!
