New program manager takes reigns of Airborne Electronic Attack, EA-6B Prowler Program Office
NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. -- The Airborne Electronic Attack and EA-6B Prowler Program Office (PMA-234) welcomed a new commander during a change-of-command ceremony Nov. 15 at the Rear Adm. William Moffett building here.
Capt. Steve “Kooch” Kochman passed the reigns of command to Capt. John “Fozzy” Green during the ceremony hosted by Rear Adm. W. Mark Skinner, Program Executive Officer Tactical Aircraft here.
Kochman has served as the program manager for PMA-234 for the last three years and will retire from the Navy with more than 26 years of military service.
“I can say with confidence that PMA-234 is a better organization today than it was three years ago,” said Kochman. “The level of excitement, the quality of work and the quality of the people all point to a bright future. I’m genuinely pleased to turn over the reigns to the capable hands of Captain John Green.”
Green comes to the PMA from an assignment as the senior detailer for the Navy’s Aerospace Engineering and Maintenance duty officer communities. He also served as the NAVAIR military total force lead, overseeing all officer assignments.
The Spokane, Wash., native has a Masters of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Post graduate School, a master’s degree from the U.S. Air Force Air Command and Staff College and is a graduate of the Defense Acquisition University’s Program Management College (PMT-302 and PMT-402).
“Fozzy is no stranger to the NAVAIR community and has successfully employed his tremendous skill set in PMAs 234, 209, 265 and on the staff of Air 10,” said Skinner. “He was selected for this position because he demonstrated the leadership ability and technical know-how to guide the Airborne Electronic Attack and EA-6B Program Office on a steady path toward continued excellence.”
Green said he looks forward to leading PMA-234 for the next few years and is excited about what the program office does for the warfighter.
“I think the ingredients for success are well rooted here, not only in PMA-234, but across the entire government and industry team supporting our efforts,” said Green. “I look forward to building on the success of an already exceptional team to provide our Sailors and Marines the world’s greatest airborne electronic attack systems on time and at a cost we can afford.”
