Sailors, Navy civilians donate more than 200 toys to Head Start children

For the 43rd year, Sailors and Navy civilians from the Lakehurst side of Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst came together to donate toys to children from low-income families as part of the Navy Lakehurst Giving Tree program.

Approximately 200 children ages three-five from the Berkeley, Manchester and Toms River Head Start Centers received a requested toy from their holiday wish list, donated by volunteers from the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst and Naval Support Activity (NSA) Lakehurst.

NAWCAD-supported student teams place in international robotics competition

Two student teams from New Jersey received international recognition for their robotic designs in the International SeaPerch Competition at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts June 1-3.

The Harrington Middle School team placed second overall for the middle school-level and the High School team from Egg Harbor Township Police Athletic League placed third overall for the high school-level in the student robotics competition.

Professional Development Group supports new hires at NAWCAD Lakehurst

For many new hires in the government, learning their new job is only half the battle. They also need to learn the organizational structure, how to use government information systems and a litany of acronyms. On top of that they may be new to the area and living on their own for the first time.

The Professional Development Group (PDG) at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst has worked over the past 17 years to help make this transition easier.

NAWCAD Lakehurst Support Equipment Program Officer awarded for exemplary support to the fleet

A Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst Support Equipment Program Officer (SEPO) was awarded for exemplary service in support of the fleet during a ceremony on the Lakehurst side of base June 25.

Scott Wheeler received the Navy’s Meritorious Civilian Service Award during a visit to NAWCAD Lakehurst by members of Program Executive Officer for Air Anti-Submarine Warfare, Assault & Special Mission Programs (PEO(A)).

NAWCAD Lakehurst recognizes Program Management Team Leader of the Year

A U.S. Navy team leader was recognized during an award ceremony hosted by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst Aug. 22 for his leadership and dedication to supporting the fleet.

Shane Campana, deputy program manager for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Program at NAWCAD Lakehurst, received the 2018 NAWCAD Program Management Team Leader of the Year award.

Sailors, engineers and scientists recognized for innovation, outstanding service to the fleet

The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst recognized several of its Sailors, engineers and scientists for exemplary service to the fleet during an awards ceremony Aug. 30.

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Support Equipment (SE) and Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Department hosted its annual awards ceremony to formally recognize its Innovator of the Year, New Employee of the Year and Sailor/Marine of the Year.

This year included the addition of two new award categories, SE Team of the Year and ALRE Team of the Year.

NAWCAD Lakehurst recognized for support to National Guard and Reserve personnel

Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst was recognized by the Department of Defense during a ceremony Aug. 23 for exemplary support to its National Guard and Reserve member employees.

NAWCAD Lakehurst was named one of the top 100 finalists for the Secretary of Defense’s 2017 Freedom Award, which honors organizations from across industry, small business and the public sector.
