A U.S. Navy team leader was recognized during an award ceremony hosted by the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst Aug. 22 for his leadership and dedication to supporting the fleet.

Shane Campana, deputy program manager for the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye Program at NAWCAD Lakehurst, received the 2018 NAWCAD Program Management Team Leader of the Year award.

“Shane is a productive and dynamic leader, and is highly regarded by the program he supports, his fellow teammates and our industry partners,” said Head of NAWCAD Program Management Mauricio Borrero.

Campana also serves as the Integrated Product Team (IPT) lead for E-2C/C-2A Support Equipment (SE) sustainment, IPT lead for the E-2 Power and Propulsion SE and E-2 International Programs SE Project Officer (SEPO).

Among his notable accomplishments include leading the Rotodome Assembly and Maintenance Stand Project, which was a recipient of the 2017 NAWCAD and NAVAIR Commander’s Awards for Innovation, and his efforts in securing funding for full-time manufacturing work for NAWCAD Lakehurst.

Campana exhibits many great leadership qualities, including keeping open communication with his team members and recognizing their hard work through “Employee of the Week” awards, said NAWCAD Program Management Lakehurst Site Lead Gerry Mollo.

“I’m typically not speechless. What I would say is, getting to this point, I think a lot of it has to do with the training and development and mentorship that you experience here over the years,” said Campana. “I really do appreciate it and it means a lot.”
