Fleet Readiness Center Southeast kicks off annual recruitment efforts for Trades Apprenticeship Program

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) has begun recruitment efforts for its Trades Apprenticeship Program, kicking off its fourth year and 2022 class.

The apprenticeship is a four-year combination work-study program that provides apprentices with a competitive wage while learning a journey-level trade.

During the last few decades, the push toward higher education has caused many young adults to struggle with the accumulation of debt incurred by college and living expenses.

New Chief Petty Officers Join the Ranks at NAS Patuxent River

Fellow chiefs, family members, friends and coworkers watched as 18 new chief petty officers from across Naval Air Station (NAS) Patuxent River were pinned in a ceremony Nov. 19 in the U.S. Naval Test Pilot School Hangar.

After nearly two months of intensive training, study, drills and preparation, the Sailors donned anchors that represent more than a century of heritage and tradition as the 128th chief petty officer class.

PMA-299 awarded for international acquisition excellence

Six NAVAIR teams and a program manager were recognized as winners at the Department of the Navy’s Acquisition Excellence Awards ceremony Nov. 4.

“We’re recognizing today the best of the best, but the winners represent all the great efforts over the past year,” said Frederick J. Stefany, acting Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, listing the COVID-19 international pandemic supply issues and continued maximum telework as challenges. “Everyone stepped up and did incredible things this year.”

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast's (FRCSE) P-8 Fleet Support Team (FST) has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Department of the Navy (DON) Acquisition Excellence Awards (AEA) for Sustainment Team of the Year.

Each year the DON AEAs recognize individuals and teams who contribute outstanding achievements to Navy and Marine Corps programs throughout the fiscal year. The competition was particularly tight this year, as dozens of participants from NAVAIR, NAVSEA and NAVSUP competed.
