Naval Air Systems Command recognizes Fleet Readiness Center Southeast’s 2025 Supervisor of the Year winner

At a ceremony on Jan. 21, Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) announced its 2025 Supervisor of the Year Award winners, recognizing one recipient from each of its 11 sites.

Anthony Harris, an aircraft overhaul and repair supervisor on Fleet Readiness Center Southeast’s (FRCSE) T-6 Texan II production line, received the NAVAIR accolade for FRCSE. There were 59 other nominees from across the command.

First Royal Navy F-35 Aircraft Arrive at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast for Corrosion Mitigation

The first Royal Navy (RN) F-35 Lightning II aircraft arrived at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) on Dec. 3 for Production Asset Inspection Requirement Tier II (PAIR II) corrosion-mitigation inspections.

Using the PAIR II process, FRCSE artisans on the F-35 corrosion speed line will inspect the aircrafts’ underlying structure then remove and repair any corrosion to prevent further damage.

First Air Force T-38 Talon arrives at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast for overhaul and repair

The first Air Force T-38 Talon aircraft arrived at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) Nov. 24 for overhaul and repair as part of the Talon Repair, Inspection and Maintenance program (TRIM).

The TRIM program is an Air Force repair initiative that involves inspecting and replacing key structural components across the entire T-38 fleet, with the goal of extending the operational life of the aircraft by five to 10 years.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Completes First H-60 Seahawk Using Electronic Work Orders

On July 23, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast achieved its first successful completion of an H-60 Seahawk utilizing Electronic Work Orders (EWOs), completing a Planned Maintenance Interval in just 113 days – seven days quicker than the average turnaround time for H-60s during the fiscal year.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Completes First F135 Power Module and Achieves Initial Depot Capability

On August 29, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) completed its first depot-level repair of an F135 power module, establishing the command’s Initial Depot Capability (IDC). The power module is one of five major components powering the F-35 Lightning II engine.

FRCSE’s IDC status is crucial for supporting military aviation readiness and was designated in 2020 as one of two aviation depots to repair the F135 engine.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast inducts T-45 Goshawks to service life extension production line

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) has inducted its first two T-45 Goshawk aircraft into the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) production line, 13 months after the Navy identified the requirement.

The Goshawk is the primary tandem-seat jet trainer used by the Navy and Marine Corps for pilot carrier qualification – a mandatory certification pilots must complete before flying any other carrier-capable aircraft.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast graduates 26 from apprenticeship program

Twenty-six apprentices from Fleet Readiness Center Southeast’s (FRCSE) Trades Apprenticeship Program received their journeyman-level certificates on Friday, July 11 during a graduation ceremony.

FRCSE’s apprenticeship program is a paid, four-year work-study course of instruction encompassing eight skilled trades: aircraft electrician, machinist, pneudraulics mechanic, sheet metalist, aircraft mechanic, aircraft engine mechanic, electronics mechanic and painter.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast establishes new T-45 repair capability

In November 2024, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) stood up repair capability for a T-45 Goshawk service life extension program (SLEP) production line supporting the Naval Undergraduate Flight Training Systems Program Office (PMA-273).

FRCSE expects the first SLEP wing swap and full aircraft SLEP in June 2025, only 13 months after the Navy identified the requirement in May 2024. Usually, this process takes upward of two years.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast’s Jacksonville detachment establishes fiber optics repair capability

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) Detachment Jacksonville has completed certification to become the first intermediate-level (I-level) fiber optics Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) maintenance facility in the Navy.

Currently, the detachment supports the P-8 Poseidon maritime patrol aircraft. However, the certification underscores an opportunity for FRCSE to enhance operational readiness throughout the NAVAIR domain.
