Fleet Readiness Center Southeast’s P-8 Fleet Support Team wins 2021 DON Acquisition Excellence Sustainment Team of the Year Award

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast's (FRCSE) P-8 Fleet Support Team (FST) has been selected as the recipient of the 2021 Department of the Navy (DON) Acquisition Excellence Awards (AEA) for Sustainment Team of the Year.

Each year the DON AEAs recognize individuals and teams who contribute outstanding achievements to Navy and Marine Corps programs throughout the fiscal year. The competition was particularly tight this year, as dozens of participants from NAVAIR, NAVSEA and NAVSUP competed.

New precision measurement equipment poised to support improved production timelines

In military aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul operations at Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), the workforce is accustomed to seeing oversized dimensions: the 79-foot span of an H-53 main rotor, for example, or the 84-foot spread of a fully expanded V-22 Osprey. But smaller measurements are common, too – and for those, the depot relies on the team at its Precision Measurement Center (PMC), which routinely works in increments as small as a ten-thousandth of an inch.

Automated parts storage system improves efficiency at FRCE

Military airplanes and helicopters are made up of thousands of parts, and when those aircraft come in for maintenance or repair, somebody has to account for each and every one of those parts throughout the entire rework process. At Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE), that organizing challenge is being managed using a new software application called WISK, short for Work-in-Process Inventory, Storage and Kitting.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast implements new Kudos App for recognition of personnel

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) rolled out a new application meant to encourage employee recognition throughout the organization.

The new Kudos App took approximately six-months from inception to deployment and allows users to send direct messages to other FRCSE personnel who are deserving of a pat on the back.
