Fleet Readiness Center Southwest- Get Real Get Better

The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest leadership, recognizes Mr. Gary Grela with the Get Real Get Better (GRGB) Award for March 2023.  Accepting the GRGB challenge to reduce labor hours, Mr. Grela submitted a process improvement to standardize hole drilling.  His idea to expand the use of drill blocks used in Hole Quality training classes to the production floor will ensure artisans drill straight holes the first time, minimize rework, and reduce direct labor hours. is presented to Mr. Michael E. Strech, Sheet Metal Mechanic

The Fleet Readiness Center Southwest leadership, recognizes Mr. Michael E. Strech with the Get Real Get Better (GRGB) Award for March 2023. Accepting the GRGB challenge to reduce direct labor hours, Mr. Strech submitted a process improvement to combine a two-part sanding process for composite repairs into a single step. His idea saves approximately 1 hour per component streamlines the process including eliminating the need for an additional quality verification step.
