Combat Survivor Evader Locator (CSEL) System

Mission

The Combat Survivor Evader Locator (CSEL) system is the replacement for all Joint Combat Search and Rescue radios for aircrew and special forces, to support survival, evasion, and personnel recovery operations. It provides secure two-way over-the-horizon, near real time data communications, precise military Global Positioning System (GPS), and increased radio frequencies and modes of communications over existing radios.


Description

CSEL provides Multi-Function -- voice and secure data with six programmable UHF voice, Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Low Probability of Exploitation (LPE), four fixed line-of-sight Ultra High Freguency (UHF) frequencies, one Search And Rescue Satellite Aided Tracking (SARSAT) System unsecured data frequency, 23 pre-programmed messages, Multi-Band/Broadband -- Very High Frequnecy (VHF)/UHF, and Military GPS, Selective Availability/Anti-spoofing Module (SAASM)
