The Specialized and Proven Aircraft program office leverages rapid acquisition to complete F-16A modification

The Specialized and Proven Aircraft program office (PMA-226) recently completed a modification on several U.S. Navy F-16A Fighting Falcon aircraft to increase readiness and service life.

The FalconUp modification improves F-16A readiness by extending their fatigue lives by over 500 hours and provides the configuration baseline to incorporate the funded Falcon Star program, which adds an additional 3750 hours to the service life of the aircraft.

Air Combat Electronics program office, Defense Acquisition University launch new cyber security course

The Air Combat Electronics program office is partnering with Defense Acquisition University (DAU) to create a hands-on cybersecurity training range in its new course to be held on a monthly basis.

“This collaboration effort between the program office and DAU enables the deployment of software on an avionics single board computer that meets open architecture standards while supporting cybersecurity related activities,” said Dr. Hebin Luan, Air Combat Electronics program office Avionic Architecture Team Software Open Systems Technologies lead engineer.

NAVAIR delivers first redesigned MH-60s gunner seats to fleet

The Aircrew Systems Program Office delivered, installed and demonstrated the first two redesigned MH-60S Seahawk gunner seats on Sept. 24 and 25 to Helicopter Sea Combat Wing Pacific (HSCWP) at Naval Air Station North Island.

This delivery is the culmination of innovative, strategic planning across multiple organizations working together to complete the mission with urgency.
