Meseroll Recognized as Lakehurst’s Supervisor of the Year

In the nearly 20 years Bob Meseroll has been at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, he has worked his way from a computer scientist in the early days of the Integrated Diagnostics and Automated Test Systems (IDATS) Lab to recently assuming the role of Chief Test Engineer. Along with his new role, Meseroll has been recognized as Lakehurst’s Supervisor of the Year for his work leading the ALRE Software and Systems Test Engineering Branch. 

Annual open house shows wide array of Lakehurst capabilities

Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst welcomed more than 200 guests to the Lakehurst Flight Deck on Oct. 9 for its annual Open House Exposition. 

For Executive Director Sean D. Brennan, the open house was the first of its kind since he took the lead of NAWCAD Lakehurst, making it a unique experience for him that he hoped guests enjoyed as well.  

Lakehurst announces capability expansion at Ship Motion Platform

After two years of establishing the core capabilities of the Ship Motion Platform (SMP) at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst, test engineer Rob Pellegrino said he and his team have expanded and integrated the site capabilities with the surrounding test sites to provide a multifaceted development tool for military and commercial customers.

Lakehurst Sailor leaves permanent legacy for ALRE team

Sailors assigned to the Support Equipment (SE)/ Aircraft Launch and Recovery Equipment (ALRE) Test and Evaluation Division at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst play a pivotal role supporting the warfighter. Now, thanks to Aviation Boatswain's Mate Second Class Philip Ringgenberg and some of his fellow sailors, the water tower near their office is a symbol of the pride they take in their work, and a reminder of their "ALRE All Day" mission.  

Lakehurst new hires get firsthand look at the life of a Sailor during visit to Norfolk

Members of the Professional Development Group (PDG) at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst got a unique perspective of the people they support during a recent visit to Norfolk, VA.  

“This is a great event as it gives our new employees exposure to the operating environment aboard a Navy ship, and to meet with fleet representatives to get a better understanding of how the equipment we develop and maintain at NAWCAD Lakehurst is used on a daily basis,” said Xavier Rose, F/A-18 E-G Support Equipment Branch Head, one of the leaders of the trip.  

NAWCAD Lakehurst gives New Jersey students the chance to be summer Drone Legends

Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst hosted a week-long Drone Legends camp in July for Toms River, New Jersey students to learn more about the role these machines can play in the military and everyday life.

The camp incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) foundations for middle and high school students, who participate in 10 “missions” during the program.  

These activities include flight training, medicine delivery, drone racing, fighting fires, shark watching, and even looking at life on Mars.  

NAWCAD Lakehurst recognizes team members during annual awards ceremony

Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Lakehurst team members were recognized for their accomplishments in 2023 during a ceremony held at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst June 26. 

It was the first such awards ceremony for new Executive Director Sean D. Brennan since returning to Lakehurst, and one he called a “major celebration.” 

NAWCAD Lakehurst team continues work to improve flight deck safety with NOCTRNAL research

Research spearheaded by a team at Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, looking at ways to improve deck safety on a ship while freeing up Sailors to do other more critical jobs, received Naval Innovative, Science, and Engineering (NISE) funding. 

The Night Operations Character Transcription & Recognition for Naval Aircraft Logistics (NOCTRNAL) team is developing an algorithm to recognize aircraft side numbers, which would help ship personnel locate everything on a flight deck without relying on human capital.
