Fleet Readiness Center Southeast pitches in to complete a speedy in-service repair

The U.S. Navy P-8A Poseidon is a multi-mission, militarized 737 behemoth. It conducts maritime patrol and reconnaissance, long-range anti-submarine and anti-surface warfare, search and rescue and intelligence missions.

Clearly, the P-8A and the aircrew who fly it play a vital role in supporting the Navy’s mission.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Conducts Change of Command and Retirement Ceremony

U.S. Navy Captain William A. Palmer relieved U.S. Navy Captain Grady G. Duffey, Jr. as the 45th commanding officer of Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) during a Change of Command and retirement ceremony in FRCSE’s recently renovated Hangar 101 onboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville on April 21.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast celebrates mentor award winners

At a small ceremony, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) recently honored the recipients of the FRCSE Dora Quinlan Mentor Award and the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) National Mentor of the Year Award.

Petty Officer 1st Class Dalton R. Heater, assigned to FRCSE’s Detachment Mayport and recently retired, Stephen Adamczyk of the F35 Joint Program Office, earned the Dora Quinlan Award. FRCSE’s Production Lines Division Director, Clint Batten, won the NAVAIR National Mentor of the Year Award.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast unveils renovated hangar to support current and next generation aircraft

Snowy white walls, smooth sliding windows and a new roof are just a few of the improvements that the eye could see at Fleet Readiness Center Southeast’s (FRCSE) Hangar 101 ribbon-cutting ceremony onboard Naval Air Station Jacksonville on Thursday, Jan. 19.

After three years of work, Hangar 101, which previously held FRCSE’s F/A-18 Hornet Production Line, was unveiled two months ahead of its expected March 2023 completion date.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast begins activation as second source of repair for the F135 engine

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) recently began activation as a Department of Defense second depot source of repair (DSOR) for the F135 engine, the propulsion system that powers the F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter. The first DSOR for the F135 was designated in 2012 with activation complete in 2014 at the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex, Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. 

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast snags CNO’s Aviation Safety Award

If anything is clear about the Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) folks, it’s that they take safety seriously.

During fiscal year 2021 alone, the team hit a historical landmark by delivering 106 aircraft safely back to the Fleet while conducting a total of 319 flights, encompassing 580 flight hours of mishap-free flying.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast hosts ceremony for graduating class of apprentices

A small group of family, friends and loved ones gathered on Aug. 4 in Naval Air Station Jacksonville’s ceremonial hangar to celebrate the achievements of Fleet Readiness Center Southeast’s (FRCSE) Trades Apprenticeship Program graduates for the first time in decades.

All five graduating apprentices have completed the painter discipline and were accepted into the program in 2019. Painting, one of seven Trades Apprenticeship concentrations, requires a three-year commitment from apprentices.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast engineers support STEM by judging local science

A team of engineers from Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) recently volunteered to judge two local science fairs, Clay County Science Fair and Northeast Florida Regional Science and Engineering Fair.

An FRCSE team of volunteer judges, including Katie Holland, Elizabeth Nealin, Elijah Lamppin, Dylan Gobaton, Jason Mysliwiec, Justin Haslam, Conner Borgmeier, Stephanie Legg and Lawrence Phung, joined other local professionals from around the community to evaluate the contestants in a variety of STEM areas.
