FRCSW Comptroller Receives Department of the Navy and Secretary of Defense Financial Management Awards

Year after year, Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) proves that the command is the best maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in the Department of Defense (DoD). FRCSW provides the men and women of the Navy and Marine Corps with the lethal aviation assets necessary to fight and win. In FY22, FRCSW delivered 35 F/A-18, 66 MH-60, 18 V-22, 17 H-1, 6 CH-53, 5 E-2D and 4C-2A aircraft, as well as more than 25,000 aircraft components.

FRCSW E-2D Team Wins NAVAIR Commander’s Award

The Chief of Naval Operations (CNO), Admiral Michael Gilday, recently rolled out an initiative dubbed Get Real Get Better (GRGB). GRGB is a call to action designed to enact real, necessary culture change in order to reach the command’s potential and ensure the Navy is effective during this era of strategic competition. Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) leadership believes that the best way to accomplish this is to engage teammates in the process and get ideas from the people performing the necessary work.

Laser Alignment Fixture Streamlines H-60 Structural Repairs

It’s been almost six year since Fleet Readiness Center Southwest (FRCSW) began using its hard-point alignment fixture and laser system in repairs to H-60 Seahawk helicopters.

Located in Building 325, the steel-framed alignment fixture encompasses the 64-foot Seahawk, and enables artisans to align the aircraft’s beams, drive shaft and engine mounts. The alignment tool’s precision saves manhours in troubleshooting and costs for parts, minimizing aircraft down time. 

COMFRC outlines infrastructure optimization plan at DoD Maintenance Symposium

The Naval Sustainment System (NSS) model, implemented last fall, has increased readiness and continues to improve warfighting capabilities for the Navy and Marine Corps, despite aging infrastructure and equipment.

This was the focus of an opening statement by Amy Cannello, Industrial Capability and Infrastructure Group Lead for Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC), at the DoD Maintenance Symposium in Spokane, Wash., Dec. 9, on a panel titled, “Investments in the Organic Industrial Base – Need for Modernizing and Enhancing OIB Infrastructures and Equipment.”
