FRCE develops test program to increase H-1 readiness

A team of engineers at Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) recently developed a new capability that is saving the fleet time and money, and increasing fleet readiness.  

The Test Program Set Development Team at FRCE recently developed the hardware and software needed to perform tests and diagnose the operational status of the H-1 helicopter platform’s recently upgraded mission computer, the technical refresh mission computer (TRMC).  

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast Completes First F135 Power Module and Achieves Initial Depot Capability

On August 29, Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) completed its first depot-level repair of an F135 power module, establishing the command’s Initial Depot Capability (IDC). The power module is one of five major components powering the F-35 Lightning II engine.

FRCSE’s IDC status is crucial for supporting military aviation readiness and was designated in 2020 as one of two aviation depots to repair the F135 engine.

FRCE develops online application to improve processes, increase efficiency

As part of its commitment to continuous improvement, Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) has launched a new virtual request form designed to streamline operations and boost efficiency, saving time and money.    

The FRCE Process Control and Improvement Branch recently developed an online application called the process improvement request form that encourages employees to take an active role in improving operations by identifying areas that could be streamlined and proposing solutions to enhance process efficiency.

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast inducts T-45 Goshawks to service life extension production line

Fleet Readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) has inducted its first two T-45 Goshawk aircraft into the Service Life Extension Program (SLEP) production line, 13 months after the Navy identified the requirement.

The Goshawk is the primary tandem-seat jet trainer used by the Navy and Marine Corps for pilot carrier qualification – a mandatory certification pilots must complete before flying any other carrier-capable aircraft.

Navy commends FRCE for financial stewardship and innovation

The Assistant Secretary of the Navy honored Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) for its exceptional financial management performance during the Department of the Navy Financial Management Awards Ceremony June 18.

Three individuals from the FRCE Comptroller Department – Andrew Frossard, Jennifer Bean and Alana Erevia – received recognition for their financial management achievements. This marks the second consecutive year that members of the depot’s workforce have been recognized by the Assistant Secretary of the Navy for their contributions.

FRCE safety record earns recognition from North Carolina Department of Labor

The North Carolina Department of Labor recognized Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) for its occupational safety and health excellence with a Gold Award, the department’s highest workplace safety honor, and two Million-Hour Awards during the state’s 2025 Safety Awards Luncheon in Greenville May 1.

This marks the eighth consecutive year that FRCE has earned a Gold Award from the state, highlighting the command’s dedication to upholding safety standards.

FRCE earns second consecutive CNO Shore Safety Award

The Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) has selected Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) to receive the CNO Shore Safety Award in the Large Industrial Activity category for the second consecutive year, recognizing its continued efforts toward safety and occupational health excellence in fiscal year 2024.

The annual CNO Shore Safety Awards recognize commands with the best overall safety programs that emphasize risk management and mishap prevention and are considered the top safety award within the Navy. This is FRCE’s fourth time receiving the award.

FRCE receives SECDEF environmental kudos

Fleet Readiness Center East (FRCE) recently received an honorable mention from the Office of the Secretary of Defense (SECDEF) 2024 Environmental Awards for its accomplishments in support of the Department of Defense’s environmental programs. This marks the command’s third SECDEF honorable mention.

The SECDEF Environmental Awards recognize installations, teams and individuals for their outstanding achievements in innovative and cost-effective environmental management strategies that successfully support mission readiness.
