Capt. Gary Peterson, NAWS commanding officer, left, Barry Douglas, F/A and EA-18 Advanced Weapons Lab (AWL) lead, and Rear Adm. David Dunaway, NAWCWD commander, officially open the new 30,000 square foot facility adjacent to the F/A-18 and EA-18G AWL on May 1. The first three floors are office spaces and conference rooms, with the top three floors dedicated to labs for Super Hornet and Growler programs. A conference room in the $19.5 million building may be made available for use by other WD programs as well. “We in the F/A-18 and EA-18G program are unlimited now in how we support the fleet aviator,” Douglas said. “This facility will help us respond to fleet needs faster as we continue to improve the warfighting capability of the F-18.”
