NAVAIR seeks top teams for 2008 Commander's National Awards

Archived Body

The Naval Air Systems Command will accept nominations for the NAVAIR Commander's National Awards now through March 28.

The NAVAIR Commander’s National Awards are the highest team awards in NAVAIR. These awards recognize technical, business and leadership excellence in support of the Command’s strategic priorities: current readiness, future capabilities, and people.

This year’s awards carry new criteria to emphasize each team’s specific duties and responsibilities and to align with NAVAIR goals, objectives and strategic priorities as described in the Commander’s Guidance.

"We hope the new criteria will encourage nominations from teams that have not submitted in the past," said Awards Administrator Michele Martin.

Each nomination must include a justification built on at least eight of the criteria applicable to the team’s program, project, or department. Nominations should also show support of all three strategic priorities of current readiness, future capabilities and people.

Awards will be selected in the five categories: Business Operations, Program Management, RDT&E and S&T, Logistics and Industrial Operations, and Quality of Service/Customer Service.

All NAVAIR teams composed of civilians, military and contractor personnel are eligible.

Award nomination forms, submission instructions, and additional information can be found on the Awards Toolkit on the MyNAVAIR Guide, https://mynavair.navair.navy.mil, under personnel, awards, recognition.
