Fleet Readiness Center, Southeast wins Aviation Safety Award
By Katherine Midyette, Public Affairs Specialist
As testament to uncompromising commitment to aviation safety, Fleet Readiness Center, Southeast (FRC-SE) won the 2006 Naval Air System Command (NAVAIR) Aviation Safety Award for the sixth time and was nominated for the Chief of Naval Operations Aviation Safety Award. The Command is proud to have ended calendar year 2006 with a remarkable 40 years and 28,406.4 flight hours of Class A/B mishap-free flying and remains committed to staying focused on the future.
In a message released March 1, Vice Adm. David Venlet, Commander, Naval Air Systems Command stated, “To all at NAVAIR who have worked to improve safety, I applaud your initiative, professionalism, and resourcefulness in enhancing mission readiness. I challenge each of you to continue working toward improving aviation and personnel readiness through safety.”
Although the name has changed from NAVAIR Depot, Jacksonville to FRC-SE, the safety procedures employed each day have not changed. The highest standards, both in the air and on the ground, continue to be maintained. Military and civilian personnel strive to provide the highest quality products, in the safest environment possible, for the Warfighter.
FRC-SE looks forward to producing quality products for service members deployed around the world, and ensuring they can support every mission, every time, while maintaining a relentless focus on providing a safe working environment, and defect-free aircraft, engines, and components.
