The culmination of more than a year of reorganization within NAVAIR’s security team will come later this month as the unit moves to its new location in the RADM William A. Moffett building (2272).

According to Pete Riester, director of NAVAIR security, the headquarters/NAWC alignment began more than a year ago with the three organizations – NAVAIR, NAWC(AD) and NAWC(WD) – streamlining processes and improving business practices.

“We’re all working together to eliminate duplication of effort and do things correctly and efficiently,” said Riester. “We are improving team alignment and working to ensure cost-wise readiness for the Fleet.”

With the team moving from their current location in building 463 to building 2272 during the week of April 16, Riester suggests completing any incomplete business (visits, personnel security, check in/check-out, etc.) prior to April 16. The department will be closed for packing on Wed., April 11 and then closed for the move on April 18 -20.

“We will still handle emergency cases during this time,” said Riester, explaining that all normal phone lines will still connect to voice mail, which will be monitored.

The department will be open in their new spaces in room 074 on the lower level of building 2272 on Monday, April 23.
