Blood Alliance recognizes FRCSE
By Frank Taormina, Public Affairs Specialist

The Blood Alliance, formerly the Florida Georgia Blood Alliance, a leading blood supplier in Northeast Florida, Georgia, and South Carolina, recently recognized Fleet Readiness Center, Southeast (FRCSE) as part of its annual awards program. FRCSE was awarded a plaque recognizing the facility for the “Highest Number of Lifesaving Blood Donations” in the military category for Calendar Year (CY) 2006.

In CY06 FRCSE held four blood drives, collecting more than 1,100 units of life saving whole blood from military and civilian donors. FRCSE donated more blood than any other military organization in the tri-state area. This is the seventh consecutive year that FRCSE, formerly NAVAIR Depot Jacksonville, has won this prestigious award. In transitioning to FRCSE and merging with the Aircraft Intermediate Maintenance Department, the Command will see a significant increase in its blood drive numbers with additional blood drives at the new FRCSE sites at Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville, NAS Key West, and Naval Station Mayport.
