Media Advisory: Naval Air Systems Command Change-of-Command Ceremony

Vice Adm. (Sel) David Venlet will assume command of the Naval Air Systems Command from Vice Adm. Walter Massenburg on Friday, Feb. 16.

Adm. Mike Mullen, the Chief of Naval Operations, will preside over the ceremony. Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Research, Development and Acquisition, Dr. Delores Etter is also scheduled to attend.

Date: Friday Feb. 16.

Location: Naval Air Station Patuxent River, Md., Hangar 306

Time: 10:00 a.m.

News media who want to cover the ceremony should contact the NAVAIR Public Affairs office at (301) 757-1487 no later than Wednesday Feb. 14. Media will depart NAS Patuxent River’s Gate # 1 Pass Office parking lot at 9:30 a.m.
