Naval Air (NAVAIR) Depot Jacksonville Commanding Officer, Capt. John W. Scanlan III, received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Department of Defense Civilian Personnel Management Service on Wednesday, September 6, 2006.
In a short ceremony at the Depot, Nancy Hills and Linda Nantz from the Injury Compensation Division presented Capt. Scanlan with the award for supporting President Bush’s Safety, Health and Return-to-Employment (SHARE) initiative by utilizing the Pipeline Reemployment Program.
Capt. Scanlan was credited with setting the groundwork necessary to provide jobs for injured workers at NAVAIR Depot Jacksonville, thereby resulting in lifetime cost avoidance to the Command. His direct involvement and support of this program reflect great credit on the Department of the Navy and the Defense Civilian Personnel Management Service.
Capt. Scanlan happily accepted the award and said it was obviously a team award due the diligence of all the personnel working in the Light Duty Program. Finding ways to utilize the talents of light duty personnel is plus for everyone involved.
