NAWCWD Commander Rear Adm. David Dunaway, center, cuts the official ribbon opening the new NAVAIR Career Transition Center (CTC) at Point Mugu with assistance from Cristel Marie LeRoy, Total Force consultant lead, and Capt. The CTC provides information to employees and family members transitioning to China Lake as a result of the BRAC 2005 decision, or finding employment in the surrounding area. For China Lake relocation there will be information on medical services and facilities, spousal employment opportunities, educational and public schools, recreational activities, youth sports programs and family activities in the Kern County area. For employees who choose to remain in the Ventura County area, hands-on assistance is available by experienced counselors in skill assessments, career counseling, resume writing, interviewing techniques, internet job searches, stress management, scholastic endeavors, job fairs and second career possibilities. Drop-in sessions or scheduled appointments are available at the CTC, WD Training Building 366, or by telephone at 805-989-1722 or 805-989-3315.
