Increased nighttime operations week of June 10

PATUXENT RIVER NAVAL AIR STATION, MD - Communities surrounding the naval air station may experience increased nighttime aircraft operations, beginning June 10 and continuing throughout the week. The extended flight hours are required to complete nighttime tests and fleet training.

F-14 Tomcats and F/A-18 Hornets will be flying field carrier landing practices (FCLPs) and precision approach landing systems (PALS) runs to test avionics equipment and obtain pilot qualifications prior to deployment.

The FCLPs and PALS will occur over four days next week, weather permitting. Flight times are scheduled from 8 p.m. to 11 p.m.
As with all operations, NAS Patuxent River will take all precautions to lessen the impact of these Fleet-readiness activities.
