NAVAIR Depot Jacksonville military recognized

On May 17, 2002, Commanding Officer (CO) Capt. Karl E. Yeakel, Naval Air Depot Jacksonville (NAVAIR Depot JAX), recognized several of the Depot’s active-duty military. All of the Depot’s military members and reservists were present for the ceremony. As Executive Officer Capt. David J. Beck read several citations, the CO congratulated all of the recipients recognized for their past and present accomplishments.

Letters of Appreciation (LOA) were presented for the professionalism displayed in the planning, coordinating, and flawless execution of the NADEP Jacksonville’s 33rd Change of Command ceremony held on January 25, 2002. Recipients of the LOAs were: Lt. Cmdr. Michael Garland, Lt. Theodore Spicer, and PR2 Bryan Wagner. The CO also presented each of them with a NAVAIR Coin and personally thanked them for a job exceptionally well done.

AFCM John Bandor received a Certificate of Appreciation from the United Service Organizations (USO) in recognition of his dedicated voluntary service assisting with “Paint the Town 2002”.

Capt. Yeakel also took this opportunity to welcome eight new military members to the Depot. These sailors are active duty reservists that have been assigned to NAVAIR Depot JAX and will assist in various hard-to-fill positions throughout the Depot. Cmdr. Tim Matthews, Quality Assurance from AIMD, Whidbey Island, Wash.; SKC Maureen Jerome, Flight Line Production Support from the 3rd Naval Construction Regiment, Atlanta, Ga.; SK2 LaTessa Roby, Material Support from SMAT-105 Orlando, Fla.; SK2 Louis Phillips, Material Support from Port Hueneme, Calif.; ET1 David Fujioka, Process Engineering from Cincinnati, Ohio; AK3 Wilberto Flores, Material Support from SMAT 104 NRC St. Petersburg, Fla.; SK2 Doug Barth, Avionics Support from NAB5U 187, San Jose, Calif.; and SK2 Oscar Vargas, Material Support from Leesburg, Va.
