NAVAIR Weapons Division Hosts Gold Coast Small Business Conference

U.S. Navy commands on the Oxnard Plain are again hosting the Navy Gold Coast Small Business Procurement Opportunities Conference at the Marriott Residence Inn, Oxnard, Calif., on Oct. 8. The event begins at 8 a.m., with registration starting at 7 a.m. The conference will conclude at 4 p.m.

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Weapons Division, the Naval Surface Warfare Center and the Naval Facilities Institute are the hosts for this annual event. Key speakers are Nancy Tarrant, director, Navy Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization, who will present an overview of the Navy Small Business Program and Scott Denniston, director, Department of Veteran’s Affairs of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization Office, who will talk about the Veterans Entrepreneurship and Small Business Development Act of 1999.

Additional activities planned for the day include seminars on marketing your business to the government and contracting with the General Services Administration.

Representatives from government agencies and major prime defense contracts will be on hand as well, along with managers of the Navy Purchase Card Program who can discuss the credit card program.
