Employee suggestion recognized
By Susan Brink, NAVAIR Depot Jax, Public Affairs Specialist
On June 18, 2002, Capt. Karl E. Yeakel, Commanding Officer, Naval Air Depot Jacksonville (NAVAIR Depot Jax) awarded another Depot employee through the Valuable Ideas Save Investments Of NADEP (VISION) Program.
Dennis W. Williams, aircraft pneudraulic system mechanic, received recognition for recommending the use of a demagnetizing probe on “Outboard Spoiler No. 4 Servo-cylinder.” This new procedure prevents “Servo-cylinder oscillation” during component bench testing, thus speeding up the assembly process and minimizing rework. Nearly $10,000 in labor savings is expected the first year of implementation.
Yeakel commends recipients of the VISION award and applauds them for their efforts to improve quality, productivity, and economy at NAVAIR Depot Jax.
