NAVAIR joins Navy NewsStand

Archived Body

There is a new source for up-to-the-minute Navy and NAVAIR News - the Navy NewsStand at http://www.news.navy.mil/local/NAVAIR/. The NewsStand is the Navy's new flagship internal news product featuring collaborative Web site management. This allows Naval organizations such as NAVAIR the ability to personalize a page on the Web site as a source for externally releasable NAVAIR news.

The NewsStand features breaking Navy news as top stories, highlights many articles of interest, has a library of high resolution photographs and links to the personalized sites of many Naval commands.

According to Cmdr. Scott Gureck, NewsStand Project Manager, the NewsStand represents a single site where the fleet and anyone else interested in Navy information can go to get the latest news.

"I'm thrilled to have NAVAIR working with us on this project," said Gureck. "Because so many sailors are visiting the site, you will have a better chance of reaching them with your messages."

According to Gureck, the NewsStand also directly supports both the Department of Defense's transformation strategy and the Chief of Naval Operation's strategy of Navy-wide message alignment.

A direct link to the Navy NewsStand (http://www.news.navy.mil/local/NAVAIR/) can be found in the left column of e-mag and under "Hot Off the Press" on NAVAIR's Wingspan.
