PATUXENT RIVER NAVAL AIR STATION, MD—Community volunteers, Conservation Corps members and staff from the National Aquarium in Baltimore and the NAS Patuxent River environmental department will be working in the area of Priest Point on the NAS Patuxent River Webster Field Annex for a shoreline stabilization and restoration project of the Chesapeake Bay May 2 and 3. More than 3,500 ft. of newly created shoreline will be planted with native species of bay grass. The planting project will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. Members of the media are invited to attend the event May 2 from 10 a.m. to noon. More than 75 community volunteers are expected over the two days.

Aquarium and station representatives will be on hand to provide information and answer questions. Photos of the Bay Grass Restoration Project will be permitted.
