The New NAVAIR Exhibit Style Guide provides employees with requirements and guidelines on how to present NAVAIR’s unified corporate theme of the “Ultimate Provider of Advanced Warfare Technologies” for upcoming corporate sponsored exhibits and trade shows.
The Exhibit Style Guide is now available to all NAVAIR employees to begin using by linking to the Project Golden Wing (PGW) Web site (https://projectgoldenwing.navair.navy.mil/), and then clicking on the “Style Guide” link.
“The guide is for everyone who represents NAVAIR, including any team, site or competency,” said Stu Young, NAVAIR director, Systems Engineering Department, AIR-4.1 and co-chair for the guide development group. “The style guide aligns our external message and emphasis with our Project Golden Wing tenets and NAVAIR’s credo.”
The Exhibit Style Guide allows NAVAIR teams creativity and individual flexibility while also encouraging a consistent theme and image to reinforce NAVAIR’s integrity among external audiences.
Written with collaboration from NAVAIR sites and competencies, the Exhibit Style Guide outlines how to appropriately represent NAVAIR during events, including international shows. The guide specifically addresses procedures for event details such as live demonstrations, displays, give-a-ways, virtual trade shows, photographers, and set-up and break down during the show or event. In addition, the guide summarizes effective marketing strategies, media tactics, staff requirements and industry best practices.
“The NAVAIR Exhibit Style guide is a ‘one-stop shop’ for any employee who will be attending a trade show or exhibit on behalf of NAVAIR,” said Terry Clark, NAVAIR Director for the Avionics Department, AIR-4.5, Weapons Division and co-chair for the guide development group. “It’s a complete and concise plan on how a team should represent NAVAIR externally, while also including guidance on how to effectively communicate who we are and what we do as a Command. All resources needed are in the guide including where to find additional information.”
A NAVAIR Event Coordination team (ECT) is responsible for overall coordination and execution of NAVAIR trade shows. The team ensures that the basic guidelines in the Exhibit Style guide are followed, and also that NAVAIR maintains the unified corporate theme. The NAVAIR Business Development Offices (BDOs) and NAVAIR ECT are available to assist any NAVAIR team with a display or exhibit. Resources available to NAVAIR exhibitors include: NAVAIR six technology banners, posters, site maps, PGW posters, plasma screen, flat screen televisions, DVD players, VCR, laptops, display boards, magazine rack, business card scanner, laminator, easels and table cloths. All items are available to any NAVAIR employee who is planning to attend a show or exhibit on behalf of NAVAIR. The items are available on a first come first serve basis, and are free to borrow as long as they are not damaged. For more information on available resources through the BDO, contact Ella Tennyson by email at [email protected].
Many references were used in writing the style guide, including industry experts, the NAVAIR Creative Content Team and NAVAIR Public Affairs. Also, exhibit style guides from PGW, NAVAIR Orlando, NAVAIR Point Mugu and NAVAIR China Lake were used for guidance.
