Depot honors 2002 EEO award recipients
The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Depot Cherry Point held its annual EEO Awards luncheon and ceremony on Jan. 29 at the Marine Corps Air Station Cherry Point Staff NCO Club. Commanding Officer Col Eugene K. Conti and Executive Officer Col John D. Gumbel were on hand to recognize the 2002 recipients and present their awards.
Awards were presented in six categories with a winner and runner-up in each category. Juli A. Cosgrove was honored as Woman of the Year, and JoAnn C. Tadlock was the runner-up; Richard P. Joseph won Man of the Year with George M. Lupton Jr. as runner-up; George A. Lupton Jr. won the Leadership Award, and Brenda S. Stilley was the runner-up; Mark J. Bastyr received the Supervisory Individual Award with Steven R. Farrer as runner-up; and Pamela S. Beatty won the Non-Supervisory Individual Award with Patricia W. Willis as runner-up. Dennis West accepted the Unit Award on behalf of the Research and Engineering Group (4.0). The Human Resources Department was runner-up for the Unit Award.
NAVAIR Depot Cherry Point provides maintenance, engineering, and logistics support on a variety of aircraft, engines, and components for all branches of the U.S. armed forces. It is the only source of repair within the continental United States for many jet and rotary wing engines and is the Navy’s center of excellence for rotary wing aircraft. NAVAIR provides advanced warfare technology through the efforts of a seamless, integrated, worldwide network of aviation technology experts.
“Congratulations to all of the award recipients and thank you to everyone who graciously volunteered their time and talents to making the ceremony a tremendous success,” Hilda Davis, NADEP Command Deputy EEO Officer, said. “We especially want to thank those who cared enough to nominate persons they felt were deserving of recognition. Last but not least, the depot Color Guard’s contribution to the event was outstanding, and we thank them for their participation and support.”
