NAVAIR Depot Jax E-6 program announces employee of the quarter

Naval Air Depot Jacksonville, E-6 Industrial Production Team (IPT) Leader Alex Padilla announced the E-6 IPT employee of the quarter (EOQ) for the second quarter (January – March) and third quarter (April – June) of fiscal year 2002. Padilla stated, “We select an employee every quarter and recognize the person for his/her accomplishments in supporting the E-6 Program.”

Don Hutto, electronics engineer, was selected as E-6 EOQ for the second quarter. Hutto’s significant accomplishments include contributions to the resolution of the proper use of the aircraft external power connectors with the power cart, validation/verification of the source data for the Multifunction Display System (MDS) at Boeing and the rewrite of the lightning strike procedures. Hutto represented the E-6 program at an Air Systems Electromagnetic Interference Corrective Action Program (ASEMICAP) Precipitation-Static (P-Static) Meeting and presented the status of the P-Static Sweep procedures that he developed for the E-6 aircraft. These procedures are being adopted for Fleet wide use as part of the fielding for the new P-Static Test Set. Hutto responded to a request for technical assistance for troubleshooting the Structural Data Recorder System (SDRS) on the E-6 aircraft and initiated an Engineering Investigation to resolve the problem.

Mr. Phil DeSipio, senior electronics engineer, was recently presented the E-6 EOQ for the third quarter. DeSipio’s significant accomplishments include contributions to the validation/verification of the source data for the Multifunction Display System (MDS) at Boeing and the verification of Ultra-High Frequency (UHF) Communications, Command, and Control (C3) transmitter troubleshooting procedures. Phil represented the E-6 community at a fuel system technical review meeting of military 707 derivative aircraft users hosted by the E-3 community at Tinker Air Force Base and is coordinating with the Air Force on the development an SFAR 88 compliant fuel system for the E-6.

Padilla congratulated Hutto and DeSipio on their significant accomplishments and dedication to the E-6 Program.
