The SOH office has undertaken Critical initiatives such as outgrowths of NAVSOH programs and the Process Review and Measurement System (PR&MS). Numerous programs were restructured and re-promulgated; new ergonomic efforts were initiated and some existing ones refined; along with recent program innovations and some rather unique outreach contributions. As such, FY01 achievements included total mishaps down 13 percent, lost workday mishaps down 4 percent, days lost to injuries down 14 percent, back injuries down 42 percent and days lost due to back injuries alone down 29 percent.
