Captain Francis P. Castaldo, Civil Engineer Corps, United States Navy, was formally promoted by Rear Admiral Michael C. Bachmann on March 3, 2003. Captain Castaldo is currently the Military Deputy of Shore Station Management for the Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Md.

Captain Castaldo, son of Dominic and Roseanne Castaldo, has two daughters, Katie and Natalie.

Captain Castaldo’s past duty assignments include: Commanding Officer, U.S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion SEVENTY-FOUR; U. S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion FIVE; Officer in Charge, Construction Battalion Unit FOUR ONE TWO; Resident Officer in Charge of Construction, Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana; Assistant Public Works Officer, NAS Key West, Florida; Operations Officer, U. S. Naval Mobile Construction Battalion ONE; Seabee Readiness Division Director, Civil Engineer Corps Officers School, and Marine Corps Base, Camp Smedley D. Butler, where he served as the Public Works Officer and Officer in Charge of Construction, Far East Contracts Office.

Captain Castaldo received a Bachelor of Science in Forest Engineering and Civil Engineering from State Universities of New York in Syracuse and Buffalo, respectively. He received a direct commission as an Ensign in May 1982 through the Civil Engineer Corps Collegiate Program. He completed his Master of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida in 1987. He is a qualified Seabee Combat Warfare Officer, a registered Professional Engineer, and a member of the Acquisition Professional Community. His personal awards include the Meritorious Service Medal (3 awards) and the Navy Commendation Medal (4 awards).
