Depot engineer completes management development program
In the Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Depot Cherry Point Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) Shop in Building 137, Supervisory Aerospace Engineer Lance Tucker (left) confers with Honeywell representative Dave John concerning the depot’s APU conversion program. Tucker graduated recently from the Senior Executive Management Development Program (SEMDP) after five years of management and supervisory courses, rotational assignments, and interviews with high-level government managers. SEMDP helps promising, ambitious, and talented mid to senior grade employees clarify career goals, develop managerial and leadership potential, and continue to enhance technical and functional expertise. “It was a great learning and growing experience,” Tucker said, “and I got to do a variety of interesting things. For one of my assignments, I spent six months at the Pentagon. It’s a very beneficial program, and I highly recommend it.” (Photo by Gary Rice)
