Depot wins prestigious state award

Naval Air Depot North Island has been firmly planted among the best “corporations” the Navy has to offer. The California Council for Quality and Service has, for the fourth time, selected the Depot as the Silver Level winner for the U.S. Senate Productivity Award. The Depot won in the Large Manufacturing category in the California Awards for Performance Excellence.
“Congratulations to everyone for your part in enabling the Depot to achieve this significant award,” said NADEP North Island Commanding Officer Capt. Peter Laszcz.
The application form took nearly a month to prepare. Joe Caoile, Code 6.4, was placed in charge of the meticulous work of putting the nomination package together with help from various Depot components.
The prestigious CAPE awards are the official California performance excellence competitions based exclusively on the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award criteria. The Eureka Award recognizes California-based service companies, nonprofit organizations, government entities, military, healthcare, and educational institutions that are achieving performance excellence. The U.S. Senate Productivity Awards honors California-based manufacturers.
