The Naval Aviation Depot at Cherry Point, N.C. inducted its first AH-1W aircraft on Sept. 19 as part of the Integrated Maintenance Concept (IMC). IMC is more cost effective and provides a shorter turnaround time for the Marine Corps.

Successful prototyping of the AH-1W IMC Phase Maintenance Interval 1, 2 and 3 was completed on several aircraft at Marine Corps Air Station New River. The prototyping of the HH/UH-1N IMC baseline was also completed there.

“Team members have been coordinating this effort for the past two years and are enthusiastically looking forward to executing a full production schedule,” said Woody Burke, industrial engineering technician (6.3.1.3.1). “The workload will be a welcome and familiar sight here. We are fortunate to have experienced artisans that worked on the H-1 aircraft at NADEP Pensacola and while in military service.”
