SLAM-ER ATA Success Continues as it Completes Test Shots
Archived Body
The Navy’s Standoff Land Attack Missile - Expanded Response (SLAM-ER) program team recently conducted two successful combined, developmental/operational test launches of SLAM-ER equipped with the new Automatic Target Acquisition (ATA) capability at a Navy test range. The targets for this test were simulated command and control center buildings on the range.
SLAM-ER ATA is designed to provide high-confidence target cueing to pilots prosecuting targets in cluttered scenes and obscured environments, and then allow those pilots to attack the targets with SLAM-ER’s demonstrated man-in-the-loop precision.
The SLAM-ER program is managed by the Program Executive Office for Strike Weapons and Unmanned Aviation (PEO (W)).
