Inauguration: Commander recognizes NAVAIR teamwork award winners

Vice Adm. Joseph W. Dyer will present inaugural NAVAIR Commander’s Awards to honorees Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. during a ceremony in the atrium of the headquarters building and via video across the command.

The Naval Air Systems Command commander created the award in recognition of the vital role that teams and teamwork play within the Naval Air Systems Command and as part of the broader goal to show appreciation to those teams that best implemented NAVAIR's strategic goals and exemplified the TEAM spirit.

More than 100 teams were nominated for this first installment of the annual teamwork awards. Dyer will formally recognize the winning teams with the Commander’s Award that epitomizes support of the strategic goals in six categories:

· Supporting our People -- Implementing most effective strategies to improve the work force and work climate

· Supporting the Warfighter -- Improving the capability of the Warfighter, the ultimate customer

· Resources and Affordability Achievement-- Optimizing resources

· Process Improvement – Providing the best service to the fleet

· Business Strategy Achievement – Contributing to best business strategy

· Special Achievement – Creating NAVAIR efficiencies and effectiveness not defined by other categories.
