End is in site for CAC issuance at Pax
Common Access Card (CAC) distribution continues at Patuxent River in Building 460 (the former Navy Exchange), but only through August 13.
"We're closing in on our goal of carding at least 80% of the workforce," said Darryl Allen, AIR 7.4 CAC Program Manager and the lead for the NAVAIR CAC Implementation Team. At the end of last week 10,756 cards had been issued at Patuxent River (72% of the workforce).
According to Allen, Patuxent River employees who have not received their CAC yet need to make their appointments as soon as possible via the Web scheduling site for Patuxent River - https://cac.navy.mil/cgi-bin/signup.pl?site_id=PAX.
"After the CAC issuance stations leave our site, the chances are pretty good that there will be long waits for CACs at our PSD (Personnel Service Division) and Pass Offices," said Allen. "We're going to do everything we can not to add an additional workload to our people here."
Appointment time slots are available at Patuxent River through the last day of issuance on August 13. To schedule an appointment, go to the CAC scheduling site above and follow instructions. The tool cannot be accessed via the CAC Web site (http://nas.nawcad.navy.mil/CAC) because of the intranet security restrictions.
If the date and time you select are not available, the system will prompt you to choose another time. Once the appointment is made, you will receive an e-mail confirming the date and time. Retain the confirmation number referenced in your e-mail in case you need to cancel or look-up your appointment.
If you receive a cancellation e-mail due to computer problems, you must reschedule your own appointment. The computer will not automatically reschedule appointments. You can also cancel or change your own appointment via this site.
If you have any questions on how to access or use the site, contact the CAC Assistance Center at 5-3025 or via email at [email protected].
