Navy web master to brief at Pax
PATUXENT RIVER NAVAL AIR STATION, MD-Just what are the Navy's do's and don'ts for web page design? Learn first-hand what information may and may not be posted on a Navy website on June 27 when the Naval Air Station Patuxent River hosts a brief by the Navy's web master.
Alan Goldstein, Assistant Chief of Information (Technology Integration), and the Department of the Navy's web master since 1995, will present his brief on "Navy Policy for Content of Publicly Accessible Websites" and then answer questions from the audience.
All employees - military, civilian and contractor - involved with establishing, creating, managing or overseeing Navy web sites are invited to attend the brief June 27 at 1 p.m. in the Station Theater. Sign-up sheets will be available for employees to receive 1 hour of training credit.
In addition to managing the Navy's web site - which attracts an average of 5 million accesses per month - Goldstein is also responsible for policy for content of publicly-accessible Department of the Navy web sites. He is the author of SECNAVINST 5720.47 Navy Policy for Content of Publicly Accessible Websites. Now a government service employee of the Secretary of the Navy, Goldstein is a retired Navy public affairs officer, having served 26 years on active duty.
