Power applied to UH-1Y Super Huey for the first time

NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, MD --The Marine Light Attack Helicopter Program Office (PMA-276) announced that external electrical power was supplied to the Marine Corps’ UH-1Y Super Huey for the first time on June 26 at the Bell Flight Research Center in Arlington, Texas.

This marks the beginning of the integrated avionics system functional test for the Yankee 1, the first H-1 Upgrades aircraft with a glass cockpit.

Ground runs on the Yankee 1 are set for November and the first flight is scheduled for December.
