NAVAL AIR WEAPONS STATION CHINA LAKE, CHINA LAKE, Calif. – Capt. Gordon Cross turned over command of Air Test and Evaluation Squadron (VX) 9 to Capt. Stanley Jones during an airborne change of command ceremony Aug.18 in China Lake, California.

Rear Admiral Paul A. Sohl, commander, Operational Test & Evaluation Force, served as the presiding officer and retired U.S. Navy Capt. Dan Dixon was the guest speaker.

Cross reported to the Pentagon in Washington, D.C.

The more than 300 Sailors, civilians and contractors of VX-9 support our national military strategy, providing new warfighting capability to the Fleet by testing aircraft, weapons, and weapon systems in an operationally relevant environment and devloping advanced warfighting tactics for the Fleet.
