COMFRC recognizes employees for service
NAVAL AIR SYSTEMS COMMAND, PATUXENT RIVER, Md. — Rear Adm. Paul Sohl (right), Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC), presents a 35-year length of service award to Keith Johnson (left), command operations team lead, Manpower and Training for COMFRC, at the COMFRC All-Hands meeting Nov. 19 in the Logistics and Industrial Complex, Patuxent River. Johnson began his career in the Navy as an aviation structural mechanic egress (AME) for the C-118 aircraft. He worked at several locations in various capacities including leading chief at Aviation Support Division at Naval Air Station (NAS) New Orleans, home port change coordinator at NAS Fallon, Nevada, and Command Master Chief for VR-48 at Andrews Air Force Base. As a civilian, Johnson worked at PMA-207 as the assistant program manager for logistics and helped oversee the movement of COMFRC military manpower and artisan workforce to meet the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) 2005 requirements.

Paul Sohl (left), Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC), presents a length of service award to Tony Dicenso (right), production coordinator, Aviation Maintenance and Materiel for COMFRC. Dicenso was honored for his five years of service at the COMFRC All-Hands meeting Nov. 19 in the Logistics and Industrial Complex, Patuxent River. Dicenso, who retired from active duty after 23 years of service, began his civilian career with COMFRC in 2006 as an aviation machinist mate chief and has worked as a Level II Beyond Capability of Maintenance Interdiction (BCMI) coordinator and a depot aircraft production coordinator supporting the V-22 and H-53. He is now assigned to the F/A-18 A-F and E/A-18G programs.

Paul Sohl (left), Commander, Fleet Readiness Centers (COMFRC), presents a “Hot Tamale” award to Gib Simpson (right), project team lead, Aviation Rapid Action Team (ARAT), at the COMFRC All-Hands meeting Nov. 19 in the Logistics and Industrial Complex, Patuxent River. Sohl presented the award on behalf of Capt. Matthew Ott, director, Aviation Operations at Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP), who recognized Simpson for directly contributing to improving F/A-18 Super Hornet anti-missile countermeasure readiness through repair solutions for the ALE-50 Integrated Multi-Platform Launch Controllers and producing $3.1 million in cost avoidance.
